Courses and Areas of Interaction
The eight subject areas of MYP provide a broad foundation of knowledge. Students are encouraged in their classes to question and evaluate information critically, and to seek out and explore the links between subjects and Areas of Interaction. The IB MYP curriculum model illustrates the relationship between the child, the Areas of Interaction and the subjects:

Areas of InteractionThe five Areas of Interaction give the MYP its distinctive core and actually “drive” the subjects. These themes are addressed in a consistent and creative fashion over the five-year cycle of the MYP, primarily through the subject areas, but also through interdisciplinary teaching and projects, whole-school activities and personal research. Such lessons give depth and breadth to student learning.
